Lions 2017 - 2018

 Class Pages 2016 - 2017

A welcome from the Lions

A very warm welcome to the Lions' home page. Mrs.Broughton is the Lions' class teacher and she has the support of the teaching
assistant, Mrs. Southwick. You will be able to see Mrs.Broughton out on the playground every morning from 8.40am
if you have any questions or messages.
Our P.E. sessions this term will Wednesday afternoon. However, we will have P.E. at other times so it is essential that the children have P.E. kit in school from Monday through to Friday. P.E.kit for the autumn term should be shorts-black and a white Tee shirt until the weather turns cold and then the children will be allowed to wear jogging trousers and their hooded top.. A change of shoes is essential for P.E. lessons. Trainers or sandshoes are fine for all P.E. lessons.

Reading is an important  part of our school curriculum, so please make sure that your child's book bag and home reading book are in
school every day. Please sign and date if you have heard your child read at home as we like to ensure all our pupils are reading regularly     at home and changing  books on a weekly basis. Children still working through the school reading scheme will be encouraged to read more frequently and are expected to change their books sveral times during the week. The home -school diary needs to be in school every Monday morning so I can add my  support to their efforts so  please remind your child to bring it. Every day is best.

Theme this term- Dirt Disease and Dickens

In Lions our theme this term is Victorian, looking specifically at the dirt, disease and Charles

Dickens. We will be begin by looking at the reign of Queen Victorian and ensuring the children can

place the period within a timeline.

The theme will have both history and geography elements and will  involve the children

investigating the changes that occurred throughout the period.
