Lions 2016 - 2017

 Class Pages 2016 - 2017

A welcome from the Lions

A very warm welcome to the Lions' home page. Mrs.Broughton is the Lions' class teacher and she has the support of the teaching
assistant, Mrs. Southwick. You will be able to see Mrs.Broughton out on the playground every morning from 8.40am
if you have any questions or messages.
Our P.E. sessions this term will continue to be Tuesday  afternoon. However, we will have P.E. at other times so it is essential that the children have P.E. kit in school from Monday through to Friday. P.E.kit for the summer term should be shorts-black and a white Tee shirt. A change of shoes is essential for P.E. lessons. Trainers or sandshoes are fine for all P.E. lessons.
Reading is an important  part of our school curriculum, so please make sure that your child's book bag and home reading book are in
school every day. Please sign and date if you have heard your child read at home as we like to ensure all our pupils are reading regularly     at home and changing  books on a weekly basis. The home -school diary needs to be in school every Monday morning so I can add my         support to their efforts so  please remind your child to bring it. Every day is best.

HULL- City of Culture

In Lions our Topic this term is Hull, the City of Culture. We will be taking some time to look closely

at the city in which we live both past and present. Our History and Geography elements will

involve looking at a number of  'Famous historical figures' from our city and exploring their lifes

and achievements.  We will be taking time to explore the city on foot and looking closely at the

range of amazing buildings that make up the city. The children will then be encouraged to design

and  create  and their own building to include in the city.
