Ladybirds 2015 - 2016

Welcome to Ladybirds!

Hello!
Thank you for coming to visit our page.

We may be the youngest children in the school but we want to show you that we do the most learning! Each day we have the opportunity to take part in Maths, Literacy and phonics activities as well as exciting ongoing provision to help us learn through our play. We never stop!

Please take some time to look at our exciting adventures and you never know you may learn something new too!

Ladybird's highlights - Week ending 18th December

We have had lots of fun during our last week at school. We have met some new friends that will be starting with us in January. Harry had lots of fun!

We also invited the parents in for our Christmas Stay and Play. We made lots of Christmas decorations that will look fantastic in the children's houses this year.

On Thursday we had our Christmas party, we ate, danced, sang and even managed to fit in a fire alarm practice!

Father Christmas even came for a visit. We had a great time!

The children performed their Christmas production of 'When Santa got stuck up the chimney' this week. It was fantastic!

Ladybird's highlights - Week ending 4th December

We have been investigating number outside. We played hopscotch which helped us to count to 10 and recognise some numbers too. It was great fun!

We also had fun investigating ice in the science tuff tray. We had to melt Elsa's hands. We tried wrapping them up and using salt. We also created ice paintings using watercolours.

Ladybird’s highlights – Week ending – 20th November

This week we have been exploring textures. We enjoyed feeling spaghetti, baked beans, rice, jelly and ice. Ruby said, “The beans and the rice are soft. They are the same.”

Samuel decided to retell ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ using the water collection. What a fantastic idea Samuel!

We have also introduced a snack table into the Foundation Stage. It helps us to be more independent.

Ladybird’s highlights – Week ending – 13th November

It was Remembrance Day on Wednesday. We talked about all of the brave soldiers and created our own poppy pictures.

It was also Diwali on Wednesday. We created our own rangoli patterns and made diwa lamps to help celebrate.

On Friday we dressed up for Children in Need. The children looked fantastic and raised lots of money for this fantastic charity. Thank you and a huge well done to everyone who contributed!
