A massive "Thank you" to all families who donated to our Harvest Festival.

The response from families was outstanding and we were able to donate food parcels to many local elderly residents as well as making a large donation to the residents of Beecroft Sheltered Housing. The food gifts were greatfully received by all and we are in receipt of many lovely "Thank you" notes.

Tooth Brushing and Dental Hygiene

posted 6 Aug 2013, 03:43 by NWT Web Admin   [ updated 28 Feb 2014, 15:31 by Karen Scott ]

Newington Academy is taking part in the Brush Bus Toothbrushing Programme and has been fortunate enough to be selected to take part in a study to see if the programme is helping to improve the health of children’s teeth.

Chris Ayer Dental Surgery and Henry Schein Dental Supplies will be sponsoring the toothbrushes and toothpaste for the school over the next two years. Chris Ayer Dental Surgery will  provide
a dentist to come into the academy to check the children’s teeth every six months. This dental assessment will not replace your child’s usual check up as this is only a temporary arrangement, but you will be informed if your child needs to see your usual dentist before your next scheduled appointment.

Dates for all dental check ups will be publicised on our weekly newsletters - remember Mr Ayre WILL NOT be carrying out any treatment on your children's teeth.  He will be inspecting the children's oral hygiene and sending letters of advice to families if required.

Remember to sign the consent form which your child has brought home and return it to school so that your child can be  included in this important programme.

Thank you
