Today we had lots of fun designing our "sprites" using Scratch.  We are learning to animate the "sprite" and create a list of "algorithms" to make it move when we click the green flag.  This will help the children learn to be programmers.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us to make a multitude of Christmas crafts.  The children had fun and I hope everyone else did as well.  Our trip to the synagogue went well and the children were a credit to you.

They had a great time and quotes included "I enjoyed it at the synagogue and would like to go again"  "It was a lovely trip"  "The best bit was the doughtnuts!"  All the adults learned a lot as well, so it was well worth the effort.  I was very impressed by their abilities to play the horn that the Jewish congregation play to welcome in New Year.  Well done Mr Ferrier - your music teaching helped us achieve success!

Here are the pictures from the day when we raised money by dressing up as teachers.

We have had a lovely week this week at school.  The whole class enjoyed gymnastics as they all wanted to show their skills so that we could photograph them and put them onto this site.  I will do so as soon as possible.  Watch this space!

When you come into school look out for the Panthers decoration in the hall.  Our hoop is the nine dancing ladies.

The children are looking forward to our Family Learning Afternoon on Wednesday.  Please join us to share the festive fun.

Just a reminder that we need all the trip letters back next week.  Have a good weekend!

We all enjoyed dressing up for Children in Need.

In gymnastics we have been learning to balance and travel in different ways.

We have been busy finishing our paintings in the style of Henri Rousseau.

This week we have designed and made our "poisonous dart holders".  Thank you to all the parents who came into to join us for our Family Learning Afternoon.  The finished products showed how hard everyone worked.  Enjoy the photographs.

Our topic work for this term is The Rainforest. We will be finding out about the plants, animals and people that live in the rainforest.  Also we will be discovering where the tropical rainforests are and looking at the climate in these areas.  As part of our learning we will consider why rainforests are important and how we can help to protect them.

We all enjoyed our stimulus day when we had the opportunity to handle and find out about some of the animals that live in the rainforest.  We will use this information to help us classify animals within our Science lessons.
